The
first part of every golf shot is the address position of the player.
From this set up the first thing that occurs is the take away.
The
angle at which the club-shaft starts after addressing the ball is the
plane angle of the golf swing or "swing plane".

In the take away, the club-head should swing up that plane angle until
it is parallel to the ground, when the club-shaft is parallel to the
ground, it should also be parallel to the target line.
If
the golf club is parallel to the ground and parallel to the target, the
club head is in direct line with the hands and you shouldn't see the
club shaft when standing along the golfer's target line. |
