How Swing-Tempo Works
Every golfer has a
natural rhythm. Whether your swing tempo is fast or slow, it is important to
maintain a tempo that is most comfortable for you. From driver to putter, one
consistent tempo will give you the best results. Use Swing-Tempo to achieve
maximum distance and accuracy with greater control.
Swing-Tempo will
emit 3 signals indicating the address, backswing, and downswing. The signals are
based on a " 1-2-3 " timing method. Try counting out loud to familiarize
yourself with the duration of each signal. Remember, the durations of the BS,
TS, and DS signals are based on the inputted tempo setting.
TS Note: There is no signal for the "TS" setting. The "TS" represents the pause, or transition time,
between the 2nd (BS) and 3rd (DS) signals.
1st Signal:
Indicates the ready/address position.
(This signal is unchangeable and always remains the same.)
2nd Signal:
Indicates the duration of the backswing.
(From the start of backswing to top of the backswing)
3rd Signal:
Indicates the duration of the downswing.
(From the start of downswing through impact and finish.)
What the Numbers Mean
In reference to the
setting of 06 04 07:
BS of 06 indicates
that it will take 6/10 of a second from the start of the back-swing,
to the top of the back-swing.
TS of 04 indicates a
4/10 if a second pause (or transition) from the top of the
back-swing, to the start of the down-swing.
DS of 07 indicates
that it will take 7/10 of a second from the start of the down-swing,
to the complete finish of the swing.

FAQ's |
|
Why should I invest in
Swing-Tempo and how will it help improve my game?
At some point, all golfers encounter the need to maintain consistency. Realizing
that consistency stems from tempo, timing, and rhythm, players try to maintain
it without ever being able to practice it. Why? No training aid on the market
allowed you to find or retain your prefect tempo. |
|
Will Swing-Tempo improve my
putting and chipping?
For putting, players who tend to hit
the ball will learn to stroke through the ball. A proper
topswing
pause and downswing tempo will produce a more fluid putting stroke. With the
ability to time the duration of your follow-through and finish, Swing-Tempo
develops acceleration through impact and reliable distance control around the
greens. Three footers for par will find the back of the hole more consistently,
and solid chip shots will take strokes off your game. |
|
What are the preferred tempo
settings?
After years of testing and
research, GP Golf engineers found that many Tour professionals had clearly
defined swing tempos. Our engineers developed tempo combinations for slow,
average, and fast swingers.

Based on your own swing
temperament, we recommend you start with one of these tempo combinations as a
guide. If you like one of the preferred tempo settings, program it into your
Swing-Tempo. If you feel your own tempo is slightly different, simply adjust the
Swing-Tempo to your preference. Remember, Swing-Tempo is fully adjustable. It is
important to use a tempo combination that is most comfortable for you.
|
|
Q: How can some so simple be so
effective?
It's simple and effective because we've been able to incorporate cutting-edge
technology in conquering the most elusive fundamental in golf. Compared to other
training aids on the market, you swing along with the signals of Swing-Tempo
engraining one repeatable swing from driver to putter. |
|
Q: What is the best way to find
my tempo?
Tempo usually matches temperament. To find your best tempo, simply look at the
way you walk of talk. If you are a fast walker, your tempo will probably be
faster than someone who is a slow walker. Do not force yourself to use a slow
tempo setting. Naturally fast swingers who try to use a slow tempo often throw
off their entire game. Likewise, slow swingers who try to use a fast tempo often
create tension and unnecessary strain. |
|
Q: I'd like to swing faster, do I
change the BS or DS tempo setting?
Rather than adjusting the BS and DS settings to quicken your swing, we suggest
adjusting the TS setting. This will allow you to speed the transition between
your backswing and downswing. Changing the BS and DS setting too drastically
will cause strain on your body making it difficult for your hands and body to
work in proper sequence. |
